Snowy 2.0 is the biggest pumped storage hydroelectric construction project in Australia. The multi-billion-dollar project links existing dams via 27km of new tunnels and a new deep underground power station, 800m below ground. The project features approximately 50km of tunnels, adits and shafts and includes extensive civil and electromechanical works. While most of the project’s facilities are underground, additional roads are required to access the underground power station, surge tanks along the power waterway and intake structures at both ends of the power waterway.
